The beautiful village of Clarenbridge is situated just 20 minutes from Claregalway Hotel and plays host to one of Ireland’s most unique and well-known festivals each year.  The festival has something for all ages to enjoy with entertainment, live music, great Guinness and lots of scrumptious food all held in a marquee on the banks of the Claren River on the edge of Galway Bay. The programme of events includes a market day, yacht races, talks and lectures, best-dressed lady competition, golf tournaments, live music and more but the main highlight is on providing visitors with a culinary experience they will find hard to forget with what many consider to be the best oysters in the world. The oysters are produced at Dunbulcan Bay which is west of Clarenbridge village and takes from 3 to 5 years to grow for consumption.
