The Galway Film Fleadh gets bigger and attracts more and more people every year, but the goal remains unchanged since it was founded in 1989 – a platform for Irish filmmakers to exhibit their work to their peers and celebrate their passion for film.

The Galway Film Fleadh Festival includes a range of events and indoor and outdoor screenings along with  industry-led events such as the  annual Pitching Competition, masterclasses, case studies,  industry-wide conference, the Fleadh Forum and much more.

The Junior Film Fleadh also takes place each winter and highlights and nurtures the next generation of filmmaking talent in Ireland, running screenings and events for young people and budding filmmakers. The European Film Academy’s Young Audience Award also takes place each Spring.
