Back to planning your wedding day
We are back after the summer holidays and this month we will see a lot of engaged couples getting back into the swing of wedding planning after enjoying their summer months. This is also a time for newly engaged couples and they are just beginning the planning process for their wedding, so exciting times for all couples. I have a few ideas for those couples who want to get back into the planning, maybe you have taken a break for a few months and you need to get back into it.
The famous word budget and one we all want to steer away from but being realistic, setting a budget and sticking to it, is a must. It’s not very romantic and sometimes will not be fun but starting off married life with debts hanging over your head is not the way forward. Firstly, find out where will you get the money to pay for your wedding: will family or parents help out, will you be saving part of your salary each month or are you getting a loan from the credit union or your bank. For some couples they prioritize what is more important to them and set their budget, for some, it’s the venue and the food, while others photography or band is more important. Decide what the most important factors are and set your budget to reflect this. Remember, as long as you end up married on the day, this is the most important factor and it will be a success no matter what you spend.
Plan your wedding fayres
This is the season for wedding fayres so check out when the next wedding fayre is taking place at your venue and make a note in your diary. Wedding fayres are a great way to get more ideas, talk to other couples, discuss with your venue what options they have, taste the food and drink options available. You will also meet other wedding suppliers at the wedding fayres that you had not heard of and get new ideas. We will be hosting our next wedding fair in November 3rd so for all newly engaged couples, it’s a date for your diary!
Get some inspiration
After the busy summer wedding season, lots of wedding suppliers will have shared a lot of their ideas and inspiration so getting into the Autumn months, its time to start gathering inspiration from wedding blogs, Pinterest and Instagram. The evenings are getting that bit darker and you will have more time to view local wedding suppliers over any of the social media channels.
Create a wedding planning timeline
Everything looks easier when it’s in front of you on a list and have a specific wedding planning admin day and stick to it. It might be some evening midweek that suits you or a Saturday morning over a lovely brunch. Whenever it is, choose the day and stick to it. Try not to let wedding chat creep into every conversation with you and your partner, try to talk about other things outside of the planning as it can get a bit weary for both of you.
Hire the right people
Choose good reputable wedding suppliers, those whose work you love and gel well with will make your whole wedding day experience so much easier and less stressful. You will truly enjoy your wedding day.
Tip of the week
Don’t second guess your decisions, once you have made a decision, accept it and move on. If you have thought about each decision long and wisely enough, chatted over with your partner and you are both happy with your decision, go for it, book it and tick it off your to do list.
